The Role

Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 criteria : A registered nurse appointed to a position approved by the Health Service, with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, and at least 3 years in the specialty field. Post-graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field are required, or other qualifications / experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. A higher qualification may be required where essential for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy in ano-rectal physiology to support patient care and service development.
  • Lead and participate in clinical practice development, education programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to implement changes and influence clinical direction.
  • Support staff development through teaching, mentorship, and competency development.
  • Contribute to service planning, policy development, and using contemporary information systems.

Qualifications and Essential Criteria

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current NSW Driver’s License (where required by service).
  • Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-qualification experience, with at least three years in the specialty field and / or postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills; understanding of practice development.
  • Proven ability to implement changes in clinical practice using evidence-based research.
  • Skills in strategic and clinical service planning, including organisational behaviour, change management, and cultural change processes.
  • Clinical teaching skills and competence in using contemporary information systems; experience in developing specialty education programs.
  • Clinical expertise in client-centered consultancy with the ability to work independently.
