About the role

This role will provide infants aged 0 to 5 years and their families with therapeutic interventions to enhance social and emotional development, aiming to reduce mental health and developmental challenges in later childhood and adulthood. The Infant Mental Health Case Worker will deliver early intervention, psychoeducation, referral, and outreach support that is trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and person-centered. The role also involves delivering community engagement through playgroup activities.

About you

We are seeking someone looking for a meaningful position with the opportunity to make a significant positive impact. You will have an understanding of the importance of networks and the ability to create supportive communities for young people. Flexibility, initiative, and knowledge of evidence-based models supporting children and families are essential. Key experience includes :

• Tertiary Degree in a relevant Human Services field or extensive experience in providing mental health and therapeutic community interventions to infants and children.
• Understanding of evidence-based service models for working with infants, children, and families.
• Experience working with children, young people, and families at risk or experiencing mental health concerns.
• Knowledge of issues faced by homeless youth, those at risk of homelessness, and their families.
• Experience in casework practice within the community sector.
• COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required.
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months.
