About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Officer - Part Time (Mon, Tue, Wed) - 12mth contract , based in our new offices centrally located in Geelong. This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely processing of payroll, cost effectiveness, integrity and accuracy of payroll-related data and processes in a flexible manner, to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing : Preparation and processing of complex, high-volume payrolls.
- Software Transition : Assist in transitioning payroll software and associated time and attendance systems.
- Documentation Verification : Check all documentation for employee hours and leave to ensure it is authorized and complete before processing.
- Data Entry : Import and input all timesheet information, leave requests, and allowances accurately and promptly.
- Record Maintenance : Update and maintain payroll records, ensuring timely recording of new employees and changes.
- Superannuation : Administer, calculate, pay, and reconcile all sup erannuation contributions.
- Award Interpretation : Interpret awards, agreements, and contracts , ensuring all changes are inputted into the payroll system.
- Pay Advices : Distribute pay advices to employees.
- Tax Reconciliation : Calculate, pay, and reconcile PAYG
- Leave Calculation : Calculate annual leave (holiday pay), sick leave, and LSL provisions / accruals.
- Termination Processing : Calculate and process termination and redundancy payments.
- Back Pay : Process increases and calculate back pays.
- Workers Compensation : Calculate workers compensation
- Confidentiality : Ensure employee records are kept confidential at all times.
About You
- Experience : Minimum 2 years proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with payrolls larger than 1000 staff
- Healthcare Payroll experience preferred
- New Zealand payroll experience advantageous
- Attention to Detail : Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
- Time Management : Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Software Proficiency : Experience with humanforce, micropay, workday or workforce desirable but not essential
- Communication : Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
