Learn how a merit list or pool may be used
Applicants suitable for the role but not offered the position for the current vacancy, may be placed in a merit list or pool. If the applicant agrees, the results may be shared with other Australian Public Service (APS) agencies for filling similar roles. Applicants may be offered a future role, without the need to reapply. A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months. This merit list or pool may be used to fill other vacancies anywhere in Australia. The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is currently seeking applications for multiple Assistant Registrars to join the Case Management branch.
These full-time ongoing hybrid positions can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. These positions are available primarily on an ongoing basis however non-ongoing can also be considered.
About the opportunity :
Reporting to the EL1 Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrars work closely with other Registrars in the exercise of the ART's statutory powers and functions. As an Assistant Registrar you will undertake case management activities including giving directions, orders and decisions, undertaking Tribunal case events as required, and responding to enquiries from stakeholders.
The Registrars team is responsible for managing applications for review (cases) from lodgement through to finalisation, or readiness for hearing by Tribunal members. Registrars at various APS levels exercise functions or powers related to the management of cases as authorised by the President of the Tribunal or the ART Act.

Assist Registrars and Deputy Registrars to undertake pre-constitution functions related to the management and resolution of cases, ensuring consistent, accessible, timely and high-quality services to external and internal users. Support effective case management and / or dispute resolution strategies consistent with the needs of users and the Tribunal’s statutory objectives. Maintain knowledge of best practice, including trauma-informed practices, in providing services to people with disability and vulnerable people.
