Position Overview :
We are excited to announce a new role for a STEM Teacher to join our team in 2025. This role reflects our commitment to integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) into our curriculum, providing students with hands-on, innovative learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
Curriculum Development : Design and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum aligned with the IB PYP framework, focusing on inquiry-based learning and real-world applications.
Instruction : Deliver engaging, hands-on STEM lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
Collaboration : Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specialist teachers, and the school leadership team to integrate STEM learning across various subjects and grade levels.
Technology Integration : Utilize and integrate educational technology tools and resources to enhance student learning and engagement in STEM subjects.
Student Assessment : Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Professional Development : Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEM education and IB PYP methodology.
Community Engagement : Foster relationships with parents and the broader community to support and enrich the STEM program.

As the STEM roles will be new to Milgate in 2025 we are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and able to respond to the evolving needs of the school and its students.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and / or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Conditions of Employment
VIT LANTITE
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
