Grounds Team Leader at Village Roadshow

As a Grounds Team Leader, you’ll guide, coach and support your team to keep our parks pristine, safe and ensuring world-class grounds at Sea World.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and scheduling Grounds team members to complete daily maintenance and landscaping tasks
- Coordinating inspections, maintenance, and ride envelope checks to ensure VRTP standards are met
- Managing rosters, prioritizing workloads, and supporting the Grounds Supervisor with operational planning
- Training and mentoring team members in the safe and effective use of tools, vehicles, and machinery
- Leading hard and soft landscaping activities including concreting, fencing, paving, turf, and drainage work
- Assisting with pest, weed, and disease control programs
- Maintaining cleanliness across all park areas, including waste, drains, gutters, and gardens
- Supporting sustainability initiatives such as water conservation and environmentally friendly landscaping
- Stepping up to lead in the absence of the Grounds Supervisor, including managing contractors and daily communications
- Promoting teamwork, safety, and professionalism across the department
What We’re Looking For
Previous leadership experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenanceCertificate III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Arboriculture, Sports Turf Management, or Structural Landscaping; or 7+ years of relevant industry experienceManual QLD Driver’s License and Chainsaw License (essential)A minimum of four of the following licenses : Forklift, Bobcat, Backhoe, Front End Loader, EWP, Working at Heights, Tractor, ACDC License, MR Truck License, Telescopic Handler, or Boat License (Sea World)Strong knowledge of OHS standards and safe work practicesExperience with concreting, fencing repairs, paving, turf installation, and irrigation systemsConfidence working in varied weather conditions and around domestic or wild animalsStrong communication and leadership skills to motivate and support your teamIntermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; SAP or Maximo experience desirableWhy You’ll Love It
