Cyber Security Operations Analyst - Microsoft Azure, ISM, Essential 8

One of Australia's leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage a highly skilled and experienced  Lead Cyber Security Operations Analyst to take a  leading operational role in delivering cybersecurity functions including incident response, vulnerability management and service delivery. The successful  Lead Cyber Security Operations Analyst will be offered a  12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extensions!

The successful  Lead Cyber Security Operations Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to :

• Investigating and responding to cybersecurity alerts, primarily raised through managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) arrangements.
• Contributing to the design and execution of the vulnerability scanning program and accurately interpreting results.
• Identifying gaps in telemetry and detection capabilities and contributing to the design of more effective alerting and response mechanisms.

The successful  Lead Cyber Security Operations Analyst will have experience in the following :

• Microsoft Azure security and administration tools, including Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, Purview, Entra ID and Intune.
• Vulnerability scanning and interpretation of results, preferably with Tenable.
• Applying the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential 8 in an operational context.
