Role Overview

Leidos Australia delivers IT and airborne solutions that protect and advance the Australian way of life. The Engineering Delivery Lead will head a centralised engineering support team for Maritime initiatives, focusing on sustaining and introducing new capabilities to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The role will enable the team to sustain and introduce new Maritime capability through new technology and tools, improve the operational reliability of Maritime platforms, and drive the engineering, technical, risk and assurance capability needed to deliver the Navy’s Maritime platform capability and sustain the operational service life of Naval Systems and Technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering outcomes, allocate technical resources, and set the team’s tempo.
• Serve as the primary customer-facing technical lead, fostering confidence and alignment with the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA).
• Apply structured approaches to design, assurance, and risk management within the Defence environment.
• Support the development of graduate engineers to ensure capability growth and team continuity.
• Contribute to reports, support design efforts, oversee task completion, participate in Change Review Boards (CRBs), and drive capability development.
