Overview
Principal / Technical Lead Geotechnical Engineer role within Jacobs' Tunnel and Ground Engineering (TGE) team based in Melbourne. This is a senior leadership role that offers the opportunity to shape the future of geotechnical design and delivery across the Asia-Pacific region, while contributing to some of the most complex and rewarding infrastructure projects in the industry.
You will lead technical excellence across design, D&C, and tender projects, bringing advanced analytical, modelling, and design capabilities to the team. You’ll be instrumental in building Jacobs’ technical brand in the marketplace, engaging directly with clients to support sales operations and drive business development. Your leadership will help secure new opportunities, strengthen existing relationships, and expand our presence in emerging markets.
Collaboration will be central to your success, as you work closely with commercial, project management, and technical leaders to plan, develop, and deliver a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll also support the growth and development of the TGE team, enhancing technical capability and aligning delivery with our strategic goals. Beyond project delivery, you’ll represent Jacobs at industry events, demonstrate our technical capabilities, and cultivate strong client relationships.
You’ll ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and play a vital role in mentoring junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team. You will provide consistent leadership that reflects Jacobs’ core values and Culture of Caring, fostering an inclusive and diverse environment that prioritises health and wellbeing while setting a clear direction around client focus and responsiveness.
This is a unique opportunity to lead with purpose, drive innovation, and make a lasting impact in a role that blends technical expertise with strategic vision. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of geotechnical engineering, we’d love to hear from you.
