About the role

Laing O’Rourke is the Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager - HV Power / Substations Specialist to join the iconic Suburban Rail Loop project. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a large team in the HV Power / Substation space to ensure the delivery of the overall project scope within the time, cost, quality and safety requirements.
  • Drive high performance through collaboration, positive leadership, identification of risks, and interface with clients and authorities, and support the wider team to ensure client and community expectations are managed
  • Actively promotes continuous improvement and innovation; seeks to learn from experiences of self and others to find better ways of doing things.
  • Build balanced teams with the right skills and behaviours; invests time and energy to coach and develop talent.
  • The ability to work with and influence stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for all parties.

About you

  • Extensive experience in leading teams on complex infrastructure projects and in managing multiple stakeholders.
  • A degree in Electrical engineering is essential
  • Experience with Tier 1 construction including, leading teams, budgeting and planning, procurement, risk management, client management, dispute / issue resolution.
  • The ability to work with and influence stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for all parties
