Description
As Contracts Manager (Contracts Lead), you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of all major project contracts, supporting one of Australia’s largest renewable energy projects currently under construction.
This is a key commercial role reporting directly to the Project Director and providing critical support to the JV management committee. You will work closely with senior project leadership, finance, engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure best-practice contract administration and compliance.
This role will require regular travel to the Wambo Wind Farm site — at least once per month for 2–3 days at a time — to attend key commercial and project meetings.

Wambo Windfarm Project
The Wambo Wind Farm is a flagship $1.5 billion renewable energy project in Queensland’s Western Downs region – approximately 15 km northeast of Jandowae, 74 km north of Dalby and 77 km west of Kingaroy.
Developed as a 50 : 50 joint venture between Cubico Sustainable Investments and Stanwell Corporation Limited (Queensland’s government-owned energy generator), the project is being delivered in two stages :
- Stage 1 commenced construction in 2023
- Stage 2 commenced construction in 2024
Once fully operational, Wambo will comprise 83 wind turbines delivering over 500 MW of clean energy – enough to power 312,000+ homes annually.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Commercial Management
Administer all project contracts including EPC, OE, service agreements, landowner contracts, grid / TNSP agreements, offtake agreements and related approvalsManage upstream JV contracts and obligations, including preparation of minutes, correspondence and record-keepingPrepare and submit all contractual notices, claims, variations, and correspondence within required timeframesMaintain registers (contracts, insurances, securities / bonds, rights / obligations) and ensure compliance with renewal and reporting obligationsProvide commercial advice and assessment of variations, EOTs and delay cost claimsSupport financial administration including payment certifications and insurance managementSupport asset management in the procurement, implementation and administration of all operational contractsSupport development and pre-construction teams in the procurement activities for future renewable energy projectsGovernance & Risk
Identify and track contractual risks, including estimating potential liquidated damagesSupport compliance with legal, regulatory, and Cubico internal policies including delegations of authorityCoordinate and lead tender processes and review / negotiation of new contractsStakeholder Engagement & Reporting
Attend and contribute to commercial and project meetings (onsite and remotely)Support preparation of monthly project reports and presentationsCollaborate across the project team to deliver contractual and commercial outcomesSafety, Health & Environment (SHE)

Knowledge & Expertise :
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Economics, Law, or BusinessDemonstrated experience in contracts administration in major construction projects (EPC / EPCM preferred) – civil, infrastructure, renewables or oil & gasClient-side experience (project owner or Tier 1 / 2 contractor) highly regardedHigh level of contractual awareness and ability to interpret commercial documentsSkills :
Excellent written and verbal communication, including contractual letter writingAdvanced MS Word and Excel skillsStrong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; collaborative, proactive and meticulous approach with strong stakeholder engagement skillsWhite Card (or ability to obtain) and willingness to travel to site monthlyOther :
