The opportunity
Kickstart your career in Greenkeeping with Inner West Council. This hands‑on role lets you earn while you learn, gaining valuable skills while completing a Certificate III Sports Turf Management. Over the next 48 months, you’ll be part of a fully supported program that blends on‑the‑job training with face‑to‑face classes approximately one day every three weeks at Penrith.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working outdoors and contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of our sporting fields, gardens, and public spaces. As a Greenkeeping Apprentice, you will develop valuable skills while supporting the team with day‑to‑day operations in the upkeep of council horticultural and greenkeeping assets.

From $827.40 per week + 12% Superannuation

Eligibility for employment / Pre‑employment Checks
Successful applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and agree to provide information for pre‑employment checks as required for the position. This may include police records checks, certified copies of relevant qualifications, Driver’s Licence and proof of work rights in Australia (please refer to the Position Description for the specific qualifications / requirements for the role). Copies of any sighted documents will be kept by IWC for its records as proof of verification.
