Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Economix is building a bigger team to meet the demands of our expanding business. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Deer Park Workshop and contribute to the business growth.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic is responsible for ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Economix fleet. The role involves scheduled and priority repairs, preventive maintenance, and annual roadworthy inspections.

Diesel Mechanic duties will include :

  • Maintain, service and repair company vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair faults and defects in vehicles
  • Field servicing / breakdowns as required
  • Carry out tasks at the highest standard possible
  • Inspections and assessments on vehicles as required (including completion of relevant documentation)
  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner

Skills and experience required :

  • Full Diesel Mechanic qualifications; minimum 3 years experience
  • Truck servicing ability
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing faults and defects in vehicles
  • Ability to follow direction and work autonomously
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Physically fit for heavy work
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Earthmoving Equipment highly regarded
