WHS Systems Management Partner
Location : Macquarie University Campus, Sydney, Australia
Reporting to : Manager, Global Work Health & Safety
Role Overview : The WHS Management System Specialist will develop, maintain, and continually improve Cochlear's global WHS management system to ensure a safe working environment, data integrity, risk identification and continuous improvement in workplace health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the global WHS management system aligned with legislation, standards and Cochlear's enterprise risk management framework.
- Govern WHS processes by maintaining registers, policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure compliance.
- Lead risk management initiatives, support audits and compliance checks.
- Develop reporting processes to track WHS performance, identify risks and inform executive and board level decision‑making.
- Support workplace incident investigations, ensuring proper reporting, analysis and resolution.
- Enhance WHS compliance and capability by developing training programs and promoting awareness of WHS responsibilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve safety culture and workplace well‑being initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with ISO 45001 : Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (implementation, compliance, auditing).Proven ability to develop and implement WHS management systems.Strong understanding of WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions.Experience in data analysis, risk assessments and reporting (Power BI, Excel, SharePoint).Effective relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.High attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying and resolving WHS issues.Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively across teams.Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health or related field.Experience or qualifications in Psychology or psychosocial safety systems (preferred).Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS management, including system development and auditing.How we recognise your contribution
