Overview
Our client is a boutique client-side project and construction management consultancy providing independent and professional services for property and infrastructure projects. They seek an enthusiastic Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their innovative, client-focused team and work on high-end industrial projects. Projects include industrial, warehousing and distribution centre developments, with opportunities to lead projects through full lifecycle from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects from scope development through construction to hand over, ensuring high-quality service and that client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Manage industrial projects from scope development to hand over, including front-end activities where applicable (planning, DA, CC, OC, etc.).
- Develop documentation for appointment of contractors through competitive tendering.
- Identify and manage construction risk across all projects and escalate issues as required.
- Manage project expenditure and cash flow, and oversee cost control measures.
- Oversee design development and up-front regulatory approvals (e.g., planning and DA processes).
- Ensure defect identification and rectification are addressed post-construction.
- Maintain a positive, client-focused attitude and uphold high standards of service.
Ideal Candidate
Experience managing industrial projects from scope development to hand over.Proven track record in design development and up-front regulatory approvals.Experience on industrial new build projects typically from $10m+.Experience working for a client-side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings is preferred.Ability to develop documentation for contractor appointments through competitive tendering.Strong ability to identify and manage construction risk and escalate issues when required.Ability to manage project expenditure and cash flow; excellent financial reporting skills.Excellent verbal and written communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.Qualifications and Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar.Minimum 5+ years’ experience, ideally on large-scale industrial, warehousing and distribution center projects.Strong project financial reporting skills and strategic thinking.Excellent written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills.This is a full-time permanent position offering an opportunity to work with an established organisation on challenging projects.
