The Maternity Service at Royal North Shore Hospital is committed to professional development of staff, innovation and midwifery / nursing excellence at all levels. We have a focus on evidence-based practice and actively encourage and support an environment that promotes teamwork. Our Birth rooms and Birth unit have incorporated the latest research on room design to promote a woman centred environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced midwife as a welcome addition to the team that provides midwifery care to the women in our community.
What You'll Be Doing
To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidence-based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required. The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.

This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases. The full list of requirements are outlined in the NSW Health OASV Policy (Page 11).
