Burson Auto Parts located in Coburg North in VIC is now looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a Motor Mechanic.
The Role
As a Motor Mechanic, it is essential that you have the passion to carry out mechanical servicing duties in an effective and timely manner. Your primary role is to carry out testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting major faults and overhauling engines of motor vehicles and parts such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes of a wide range of motor vehicle types.
The annual salary is set at $77,500 plus superannuation. The Motor Mechanic roles are based in Coburg North in VIC.
Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
- Changing of engine oil filters, fuel filter engine and transmission mounts.
- Repairing or replacing worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
- Removing and fitting differential, repairing and servicing of differential and driving shafts.
- Checking the overall electric power of various electric units such as headlight, parking light, sidelight, stop light, direction light, roof light etc.
- Diagnosing, repairing and replacing engine management, fuel injection components, tuning engines and making fine adjustments for smoother running.
- Coordinating with other mechanics where teamwork is needed.
- Servicing cooling system, flushing and changing radiator, hoses and water pump, brakes, transmission.
- Check and repair suspensions and wheel alignments of automotive vehicles.
- Checking parts and referring to manuals as necessary.
- Attending phone calls and putting the stock (for example brakes, sparkplugs, oil filters) at the proper places.
- Reviewing work orders.
- Maintain and manage tools, equipment and machinery in good condition.
Requirements
AQF Certificate III & IV in a related Motor Mechanic fieldAt least 12 months of motor mechanical experience in a commercial workshop settingMust have at least 12 months' experience working with Intercontinental, European and Asian car makesMust have at least 12 months motor mechanical experience with diesels, AWDs, 4WDsMust have at least 12 months experience with Hybrid and EV vehiclesExperience working with mechanical systemsMust know how to operate diagnostic equipmentGood with hand and power tools.Capacity to solve issues / problem and find suitable resolutionsExcellent work ethic and ability to strive for goalsHold a current driver's license and able to drive manual car.The ability to work independently and as part of a teamAble to pass a drug and alcohol testVerifiable work references#J-18808-Ljbffr
