ESA delivers products and services for clients including the Australian government, State and Territory education authorities, and a variety of not-for-profit and government organisations.National Assessment Systems is responsible for the development and delivery of Assessment Systems for national online initiatives across all of Australia. The key event each year being NAPLAN Online. In 2022, NAPLAN Online involved over 4 million test attempts by students across Australia. The National Assessment Systems team operates as the technical support for the states and territories during all NAPLAN Online testing, and associated events.Why work with usNAPLAN Online is a high-profile national program that offers great challenges and career growth opportunities.Work for a not-for-profit organization that provides true impact for students, teachers, parents, and carers.Enjoy a flexible working policy, with 40% of your working time spent in the office and 35 hour week.Benefit from a convenient location in the heart of the CBD.We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Analyst to provide high-quality business analysis services to projects undertaken by the Assessment team, in particular NAPLAN online, NAP Sample Assessment, and Trial events.You will have a full understanding of all functionalities of the delivery platform, interacting with internal and external stakeholders and liaising heavily with Product Owners, Project Manager & the broader project team on key product deliverables.The role is a 12 month fixed term contract. Position is full time, though we’d consider 0.8 if a candidate met our criteria.Some key duties of the role are to : Identify and liaise with key stakeholders to analyse business requirements, identify system design and approach to delivery of these requirements making use of established design protocols where practical.Design new system protocols in such a way as to preserve the integration of custom and core functionality.Facilitate face-to-face and online workshops with stakeholders for projects, incorporating best practice user-centred design principles and accessibility standards.Produce high-quality business and functional requirement documents with use cases, user stories, personas, wireframes where appropriate.Provide advice and support to the Project Managers in terms of the most appropriate requirements approach for specific projects and timelines.Manage the development and documentation of requirements for allocated projects.Identify risks and raise issues in a timely manner, as well as work with the project manager to manage and mitigate risks.About youStrong business systems analysis experience that supports a range of software development methodologies.Experience in process flows and producing quality project documentation.Proven ability to contribute to workshops with clients and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to identify business requirements and translate into high-quality functional specifications.Broad understanding in development of online applications in a digital environment.Strong business analysis, design thinking and analytical thinking skills.High-level of organisational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks / projects concurrently within strict deadlines.Strong communicator and proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.Experience in using Miro and Axure.Ability to simplify complex issues or explanations to a senior stakeholder audience using visual formats (e.g. diagrams, flowcharts, storyboarding, PPT).Creative ways of reducing complex issues into simplified formats.Familiar with design thinking methodology and approach.What ESA offersAt ESA, we want everyone to succeed, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, sexuality, physical ability or age.
