Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Electrical Engineering

Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer. This is a teaching and research role that balances research in electrical engineering with teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications.

Opportunity

Develop your own research and teach across the curriculum. Engage in high‑quality research either as part of a team or independently. The role supports early‑career academics to lay foundations for an academic career.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the specified areas.
  • Design and develop learning activities and assessments.
  • Conduct high‑quality research and publish results.
  • Contribute to departmental and faculty governance.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and experience with educational technologies.
  • Track record of publications and conference presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to student equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Understanding of UNSW policies and commitment to health and safety.
  • Salary and Terms

    Associate Lecturer (Level A) : AUD 113,911 to 121,838 per annum +17% superannuation.

    Lecturer (Level B) : AUD 127,947 to 150,830 per annum +17% superannuation.

    Full‑time, fixed‑term 2‑year contract, located in Kensington – Sydney, Australia.
