Overview

Development Services Support Officer at Bayside City Council

Employment Status : Fixed term, 12 months (parental leave cover). Days & Hours : Monday – Friday, 38 hours per week. Salary : Band 4 - $74,980.49 + 12% superannuation. Location : Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Development Services Team as a Development Services Support Officer on a fixed term basis. You will provide high levels of Administrative Support to the Development Services Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a very high standard of customer service, with at least 3 years’ experience (local government experience is desirable).
  • Manage documents and software systems, produce high quality written responses, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving the liveability and environment of Bayside.
  • Handle multiple activities simultaneously and stay organized.
  • Support the processing of development applications and other customer service requests.
  • Use word processing, spreadsheets, planning process administration, and records management tools.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Relevant practical work experience.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Strong customer service skills with relevant experience (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience with document management and administrative software; excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Interest in supporting liveability and environmental improvements in Bayside.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized.
  • Familiarity with development application processing and general customer service workflows.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and records management tools.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Relevant practical work experience.
  • Mandatory pre-employment requirements

  • Willingness to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
