Rydges Sydney Airport is a 4.5 star hotel located at the Sydney International Airport and has been recognised as the most booked hotel in Australia.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager to manage all aspects of Maintenance in our hotel.

The property comprises of 324 guest rooms, 8 event spaces, roof top Bar, lobby bar, restaurant, café and gymnasium.

You will be working closely with an experienced team to ensure guest experience is delivered beyond expectation.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensuring all assets of Rydges Sydney Airport are maintained to a high standard
  • Manage all matters of a technical and / or engineering nature, both financial and operational
  • Manage the planning, organizing and controlling all matters related to works or purchases of a capital nature and engineering related matters ensuring accurate completion
  • Completing the monthly rosters to maintain the required coverage
  • Remain aware and communicate all Federal, State and Local regulations which may impact Rydges Sydney Airport
  • Familiar and follow OH&S and Fire regulations
  • Manage and co-ordinate the hotels WHS and Sustainability Committee
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Head of Department and Work in Progress meetings
  • Manage all aspects of the hotels exterior, public areas and room maintenance
  • Maximise the maintenance team potential with a balanced focus on operations, guests, employees and owners satisfaction
  • Priorities, plan, assign and supervise the engineering department staff
  • Uphold Rydges Sydney Airports standards and the hotel's policies and procedure
  • Project and contractor management
  • Any additional tasks as advised by The General Manager

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate needs to possess the following experience and skills :

  • Ideally have a minimum of 2 years previous Maintenance Manager experience in a hotel or similar environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as well as a demonstrated track record of maintaining excellent standards
  • Maximising efficiencies in terms of cost control, and team development
  • A team player
  • Ability to think outside the box, and enjoy problem solving
  • You will ideally hold a qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade
