Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people in Out of Home Care. With exceptional relationship building skills, you will succeed in working as part of a care team with children and young people, Foster Carers, AnglicareSA Child Protection and Out of Home Care programs, the Department for Child Protection, and other professionals on a daily basis.
You will use your cultural humility, knowledge of child and adolescent development and the impact of trauma to support and promote culturally safe and therapeutic care environments where children and young people are supported to heal and thrive.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Work as part of a supportive team of Placement Support Workers and Cultural and Therapeutic Practitioners to deliver services to children, young people and their Carer’s in the northern metro and outer regions of Adelaide
- Use your assessment and organisational skills to coordinate strengths based, trauma informed service delivery and meet key performance indicators
- Work collaboratively with other service providers, facilitating a holistic service approach to families, children and young people in Out of Home Care
What do you need to bring?
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or a related field
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Mandated Reporting certification)
- Experience working with families and children and young people in a community services setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven strengths in collaboration and building strong and authentic relationships
- Knowledge of Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems and legislation
- Demonstrated strength in cultural humility
