The Opportunity

To support our existing portfolio of projects, we are looking for an Electrical Designer / Drafter for a full‑time role with our team in Melbourne. You will contribute to significant water infrastructure projects through our strong partnerships with water authorities. As part of a long‑term joint venture with John Holland, you will help deliver Melbourne Water’s complex infrastructure projects for well over a decade. You will also be involved in major capital projects for South East Water, working with ABK (Abergeldie, BMD & KBR) under a 10‑year contract that focuses on integrated capital works planning and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Use 2D and 3D computer‑aided design applications to develop electrical designs, models, and drawings.
  • Evaluate design intent provided by professional engineers and translate that into the model or drawing.
  • Assist in designing larger and more complex assignments that involve conventional plans, investigations, and surveys, primarily for water and wastewater treatment, recycled water plants, chemical dosing plants, pumping, piping, chemical storage, as well as minor structural and civil elements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, Diploma, Associate Diploma of Design or Engineering, or a similar para‑professional level qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous consulting / design / technical experience on water infrastructure and linear pipeline design as a designer.
  • Extensive experience in the practice of drafting and design in the general electrical engineering sector using various software, preferably AutoCAD or Elecdes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of local industry standards and the market sector.
