ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for an Accountant to join The Shoe Group team at our National Support Centre located in Gilman, Adelaide.

The Role :

As the Accountant for The Shoe Group, you will prepare financial reports, statements, budgets, and commentary while supporting departments during our ERP system transition. Your role involves helping manage financial systems and policies, as well as assisting management in interpreting financial data to guide business decisions. You will play a crucial role in determining, maintaining, controlling, and reporting the financial status and success of businesses within The Shoe Group.

Key duties of this role include :

  • End of month preparation of financials, including detailed variance analysis and commentary
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Assist with monthly and annual statutory preparation and lodgement for indirect taxes - GST, payroll tax, work cover
  • Assistance with preparation of annual budgets
  • Checking store P&L for anomalies
  • Weekly wage journal
  • Periodic report generation
  • Collation and analysis of financial data for other departments internally on request
  • Assist in stock take process - reporting and reconciling
  • Assist with annual audit process
  • Monthly and year-end general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with FBT financials
  • Various other general tasks and duties assigned to you, having regard to your skills, training, and experience as advised by the CFO
