DNV APAC Power Systems is looking for a senior engineer to join its Southeast Asia Power System Planning. We are looking for a talented and driven individual with a strong grounding in power systems consultancy (6+ years’ experience) and to be a leader for client and technical delivery on our exciting range of projects in the region.

Typical engagements include complex grid connections of renewables and energy storage projects and advising utilities across the region as they tackle the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing team (20+ power system engineers in the APAC region, 100 globally) that is working at the cutting edge of power systems in South-East Asia, Australia, and India.

This position is to be based in either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur (other locations in Southeast Asia possible based on the individual candidate).

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Masters' in electrical engineering / power systems.
  • 6+ years industry experience.
  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python.
  • Experience working in power systems consultancy.
  • Experience with complex, high renewable penetration power systems and firm technical understanding of associated challenges.
  • Proven ability to project management consulting packages of work, preferably in the power systems domain.
  • Experience working within Electrical Network Operator / Owner viewed favourably.
  • Great communication skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients and internal staff.
  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronics control systems and experience working within an OEM is considered an advantage.
  • Positive attitude with a proven ability to foster good team culture.
