My client is seeking a mid-level SMP Project Engineer to support the execution of multiple brownfield and greenfield works, with a focus on trap metal removal, field magnets installation , and approximately $6–7 million worth of project delivery . You'll work closely with a Senior Project Engineer (SPE) while maintaining autonomy and taking ownership across all project phases—from design through execution.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, engages confidently with stakeholders, and can independently manage work without excessive oversight.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) scopes across various brownfield and greenfield projects
- Support project execution through planning, contractor coordination, and progress tracking
- Collaborate with design teams and ensure alignment through to construction and commissioning
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining clear and consistent communication
- Assist the SPE with cost, schedule, and risk management responsibilities
- Take ownership of your work and operate with a high level of independence and accountability
What You’ll Bring :
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline3–6 years’ experience in project engineering, ideally within SMP scopes in mining industryProven experience across design and execution phases , not just front-end or design-only rolesStrong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work across departments and with contractorsSelf-starter mindset – capable of driving outcomes without needing to be micromanagedExposure to brownfield site work and shutdown preparation is highly desirable
