We are seeking a qualified and experienced
- Geology Superintendent
- to lead our Geology team based on site at the Karara Mine.
This position operates on a
5 days on 2 days off 4 days on 3 days offcontinuous day shift roster.Key responsibilities;Demonstrate personal leadership by meeting all Karara's safety policy and procedure requirementsRole-model safe work practices and positive safety leadership to your team and colleaguesManagement of Geological procedures, production tracking and reporting systemsManage the process of grade control and resource definition drilling, sampling and recordingEnsuring collection of data is accurately recorded in geological and geo-technical databasesResponsible for collating and distributing production statistics and completing reconciliation of ore resource and reserve modelsWhere possible, assisting with ground control, de-watering, mining engineering / planning and site survey requirementsSupervise the design and implementation of exploration programs with the primary objective of identifying and delineating mineral resourcesEnsuring consistent compliance with health, safety & environmental policies, legislation, statutory requirements, licenses, permits and other environmental commitmentsEnsure that the Geology team have clear direction, information, instruction and training to perform their dutiesAdvise and support team in the execution of their dutiesDay to day management of team by way of performance reviews, counselling, mentoring, disciplining etcReview expenditure reports on monthly basis and identify and variances or opportunities for improvementEssential requirements;Tertiary Degree in Geological Science or related disciplineProficiency in the use of Surpac softwareWA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations Act 1995 - Section 44 Appointed PersonsWA C Class Drivers LicenseMembership of a recognised Australian Geoscience Organisation (ie. AusIMM or AIG) - preferredCert IV in Frontline Management or Leadership & Management (BSB42015) - preferredDemonstrated experience in similar senior level Geology position within the mining industryStrong technical knowledge of the Geology function in an iron ore environmentDemonstrated experience and capability in leading teams or technical specialistsStrong knowledge of environmental and associated legislationNational Police ClearancePermanent work rights in AustraliaThe Karara lifestyleIt is only a short commute (45 minutes) from Perth to our purpose-built airstrip at Karara.
