Salary : $99,424.25 - $105,770.45 + Super

About The Role

Liverpool City Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, and skilled Landscape Architect to the position of Recreation and Open Space Planner on a 3-year contract, with potential for extension. The purpose of the position is to forward plan and design a pipeline of open space and recreation projects, across growth areas in the Liverpool LGA.

Key responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to) the following :

• Undertaking comprehensive and detailed demographic analysis across the Liverpool LGA, to understand changes to local population and respective user needs.
• Developing and maintaining; policies, strategies, master plans, concept designs, plans of management, and other documentation relating to open space and recreation planning.
• Providing technical advice and input into projects being delivered by other teams within Council, the NSW Government, private developers and / or other organisations.
• Providing technical assistance to teams managing the execution of projects that have been planned / designed by the Community Planning team.
• Preparing grant applications, to seek funding for open space and recreation infrastructure projects.
• Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and the community, as required.
• Attending and presenting at inter-departmental meetings, governance / community committee meetings, workshops and as part of community consultation activities.

About You

Our desired candidate will possess the following :

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, practical, outcome-focused, have good stakeholder management skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage a complex and dynamic workload. You will also need to have good written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software packages (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
