This business has an exciting journey ahead and is seeking an engaging Head of People, Performance and Culture to join their team.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will manage, develop and implement effective people initiatives to deliver both operational and strategic HR support, continuing the positive and progressing journey of the function.

Leading a small team incorporating Payroll, Safety and HR, you will ensure continued alignment with the company strategy and drive engagement across the organisation, with the ultimate goal of continued high employee engagement, retention, and the development of talent and high performance.

• Specifically you will
• Design and deliver the HR & Safety strategy, ensuring best practice across the organisation;
• Proactively work with leaders to understand their changing needs, ensuring advice, initiatives and support are fit for purpose;
• Develop and implement strategies to elevate the recruitment and onboarding experience;
• Work proactively with leaders to manage performance and any employee relations issues;
• Develop a reward and recognition framework and oversee ongoing activity;
• Support with EBA / Workplace Agreement negotiation and implementation;
• Proactively work with the business to identify cyclical training as well as professional development opportunities;

Act as the critical point for reporting and recording systems associated with HR and Safety; and

Drive and lead the focus of continuous improvement for the function.

Who are we looking for?

To make an impact in this role, you will bring with you experience across both strategic and operational HR management, across a predominantly blue & white collar workforce. With well-developed knowledge across all factors that influence an employee's lifecycle, you will have the ability to think critically and propose practical solutions that deliver results.

• Naturally, you will demonstrate
• A proactive and consultative working style, with an innate ability to build productive relationships with various stakeholders across all levels of the business;
• Significant knowledge of HR / WHS principles, legislation and practices;
• A strong business acumen and the ability to 'lean in' and be involved in tasks that will contribute to business outcomes;
• Extensive knowledge and experience across a range of HR and safety functions, processes, and protocols, demonstrating a high proficiency in the use of contemporary HR practices and tools;

Proven experience working with leaders to coach and guide their decision-making process, alongside your ability to influence culture and performance; and

A collaborative team player with a down-to-earth working style.

Experience in a relevant industry sector (manufacturing and / or construction) will be highly regarded, but not essential.
