Medical Receptionist / Administrator

Quinns Podiatry requires a receptionist with the prospects of adding an admin role later in the year.

We are located in the medical complex on the corner of Quinns Road and Mindarie Drive in Quinns Rocks. For early arrivers, there is ample free parking.

Preferably you have experience processing both EFTPOS and HiCAPSpayments though not essential. Your main responsibilities will be :

making appointments for patients, both in person and over the phone; answering calls from potential patients who require information or a response to their question about treatment; processing Medicare rebated care plans and DVA referrals; processing payments on the HiCAPS terminal for patients using private health, Medicare rebate system, sending invoices to NDIS for payment and posting online DVA payment submission; checking email and responding where appropriate; general cleaning of the practice at the end of the day; reception staff are expected to cover each other when one is on leave. Later in the year you will take on an admin duty in addition to the reception role. This depends on your experience and what we need

Shifts vary slightly but most are 8am - 6 : 30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Short breaks can be taken when appropriate during the day. We are open 6 days a week and usually finish about 2pm on Saturdays. At the moment we have 1 Podiatrist instead of 2 so Saturdays may be a little longer.

The person we are looking for will ideally have :

Excellent attention to detail Pleasant telephone manner Ability to problem solve Ability to work independently - once trained and with a little experience, you will be working alongside the Podiatrist Cheerful disposition / good sense of humour Ability to deal with people who can present as difficult Knowledge of sign language would be useful as we have a few patients who are legally deaf This position would be suitable for a wheelchair bound person who has, some or all, of the above aptitudes. The bathroom in the practice is wheelchair friendly as is the reception desk.
