Contract start 11 December 2023 to 12 months, 12 months extensions.Australian Citizen, Ability to obtain Baseline Clearance, Surry Hill, NSW or Brisbane, QLD role.As the NDIA is growing to meet the needs of the Australian population, the NDIA requires comprehensive IT systems to support the day to day running of the organisation. The Platforms, Integration & Data team are responsible for scoping, designing, delivering and maintaining high quality IT systems and applications to support the entire agency and our partner organisations to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme to our participants every day.

As a Business Analyst you will assist in the delivery of diverse and varied projects, centred around a large-scale digital transformation that is currently underway. A key to your role will be ensuring that requirements are captured and supporting the team to document processes and technical detail.

Building relationships and business acumen are two of your key skills that you use to support the team in delivering positive outcomes for the agency.

Responsibilities of the role :

Work closely with program, business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate identified needs into outcomes which align with NDISs architectural principles and strategies.Synthesise business and technical requirements / concepts and present them in simple terms.Work with both traditional and Agile delivery practices including backlog creation / refinement and associated requirements gathering, data discovery and analysis.Facilitate workshops and perform business analysis activities including business process modelling, business and solution requirements lifecycle management, and data modelling.Assist the project manager and the team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks.Assist team mates to effectively document the systems and solutions that the team develops, delivers and maintains.Suggest changes / enhancements to management using evidence to support your recommendations.Work with various business units to support and maintain new and existing customer data and system integrations.Work with an outcome focus, with an ability to effectively challenge the business while retaining a customer focus.Work effectively with dynamic technical teams, business stakeholders and 3rd party providers.Every application requires to address selection criteria as part of application submission.

1. Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years, working in a similar role performing business analysis activities including workshop facilitation, supporting the successful delivery of high-impact and high-value initiatives that lead to meaningful change.

2. Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with technical SME's to define and obtain an understanding of business needs, technical constraints, and technical concepts and present them in simple terms.

3. The ability and desire to quickly learn and understand the technical details of a proposed solution to a level that facilitates effective engagement with the technical teams and the delivery of accurate documentation.

4. Proven experience, of at least 3 years, in a role relating to cloud platforms (preferably Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) including delivery of new services.

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, cultivating productive working relationships across multiple projects and business areas.

6. A proven ability to use initiative and self-drive to meet demanding deadlines. Self-managed, adaptable and quick to learn.

1. Experience in working with diverse project, in-house development, and vendor teams to deploy complex, integrated technologies and effect business change.

2. Demonstrated experience and flexibility to adapt to agile and waterfall processes to deliver projects.
