Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist - Nephrology

The Position

We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Nephrology Staff Specialist seeking a permanent role in Northern Queensland (Multiple positions available).

The North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service (NQKTS) will be dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art kidney transplantation to patients across an expansive catchment area covering five Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) in North Queensland. These encompass the Northwest region of Queensland, Cairns and the Hinterland, Torres Strait Island and Cape York, Mackay and Townsville.

As a Staff Specialist within this pioneering service, your responsibilities will include :

• Contributing clinically to the organisations management and provision of a comprehensive kidney transplant services, including providing kidney transplant outreach services, education, and training support.
• Assisting with the organisations management and provision of Nephrology services at the University Hospital.
• Providing specialist professional leadership to medical staff within the department, and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary patient care team.
• Assist the Clinical Directors of Kidney Transplant and Nephrology to provide quality leadership based on evidence-based practices and by demonstrating and enabling adequate communication to all stakeholders along the patient’s continuum of care.
