About YouAs a Quality and Safeguarding Officer you will have a "capability first" view underpinning your belief in the valued roles people with disability can and should have in community. You will be able to effectively engage and communicate with people from all walks of life and collate their perspectives to make recommendations on continuous improvement to the organisation's management.
About the rolePart Time - 5 days per fortnight + extra hours near accreditation
You will play a lead role in helping our organisation implement a contemporary approach to supporting people with disability to thrive in their community. By conducting audits you will help us identify opportunities for continuous improvement whilst maintaining compliance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.
Duties will includeReview and align organisational documentation and processes with industry best practice, legislative requirements and NDIS practice standards under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding FrameworkUndertake internal quality audits to ensure quality practices are maintained and improvedCreate relevant Quality and Safeguards information and resources for people with disability, staff and managementDevelop effective consultation processes with people with disability, gain and analyse feedbackAssist in data collection and review for continual improvement purposesCreating and delivering training to team leaders and direct support staffYou must haveUnderstanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and NDIS funding model and processesDemonstrated experience in auditing service delivery, quality management, governance, risk and safeguarding, in the community services sectorExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.Demonstrated high level of initiative and organisational skillsAbility to identify improvements, multi-task and meet deadlinesAn understanding of the issues affecting people with disability and the delivery of person-centred disability support servicesExperience in facilitating workshopsCurrent working with Children checkCurrent "C" class drivers licenceNDIS Workers Screening CheckDesirableTertiary qualification in Allied Health Services / Health SciencesExperience of auditing processesExperience in process mapping
