GIS Analyst (Contract) – Government Organisation, Eastern SuburbsAre you a skilled GIS Analyst looking for a contract opportunity to apply your expertise in spatial mapping and analysis?

Join a respected government organisation in the Eastern Suburbs and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing their GIS systems.About the RoleAs a GIS Analyst, you will provide spatial mapping, analysis, and support across the organisation.

You will be responsible for administering the Council's internal and public-facing mapping systems, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date.

Additionally, you will generate maps and reports, manage the automated system for s10.7 planning certificates, update the Council's Property Information System (PIS), and determine street numbering for new developments.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update Council's Property Information System, including cadastre records.Administer and enhance the GIS system (MapInfo and Spectrum Spatial Analyst) to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Support cross-departmental projects with data analysis and standardisation.Manage GIS data, create metadata, and perform spatial analysis using SQL statements.Generate maps and reports for internal and external stakeholders.Conduct regular data cleansing of addresses within the Property Information System.Update s10.7 planning certificate templates in line with legislative changes.Allocate and maintain street numbers according to Council guidelines.Develop technical manuals, procedures, and provide user training and support.Stay informed about industry trends and recommend new GIS technologies.About YouYou are a detail-oriented GIS professional with strong analytical skills and experience of administering GIS systems.

Your technical proficiency in spatial data analysis, SQL queries, and GIS software will be essential for success in this role.
