We are now seeking a mature, compassionate, and highly organised Foster Carer Recruitment & Executive Support Officer to coordinate new foster carer enquiries, manage onboarding processes, and provide high-level administrative assistance to the Executive Manager for Practice & Programs.
About the Role :
This role is responsible for the coordination of foster carer recruitment from initial enquiry through to assessment, training and approval. In addition, the role provides dedicated executive support to the Executive Manager for Practice & Programs, ensuring strong administrative processes, calendar coordination, task tracking, and operational support within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities : Respond to foster carer enquiries and provide information aligned with Family Spirit's Catholic mission and Out of Home Care requirements.
Manage and maintain records for all applications, probity checks, Working with Children Checks, and other compliance documentation.
Coordinate foster carer training sessions and assessments.
Liaise with assessors, trainers, and internal teams to ensure timely progress of applications.
Provide warm, respectful, and professional engagement with prospective carers throughout the entire recruitment journey.
Provide high-level executive support to the Executive Manager for Practice & Programs, including managing diaries, preparing documents, coordinating meetings, monitoring follow-up actions, and supporting ongoing projects.
Bring a calm, organised, and proactive approach to supporting dynamic executive leadership.
Maintain accurate records and data systems to meet compliance and reporting obligations.
Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and best practice standards in all aspects of the role.
Essential Skills and Attributes : Previous experience working within the out-of-home care or foster care sector.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and guide prospective carers.
Highly organised with strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
Strong executive support capability, with experience managing multiple competing priorities for senior leaders.
Calm, professional, and adaptable under pressure, able to bring structure and clarity to fast-paced environments.
Mature, emotionally intelligent, and able to manage sensitive and sometimes confronting discussions with care and professionalism.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and client management systems.
A personal commitment to the Catholic principle of Vocational Dignity : understanding that all work is meaningful when done in service of others and contributes to the mission of care.
Understanding of the important role faith and values play in foster care within a Catholic organisation.
Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and valid Driver Licence (or willingness to obtain).
Lived experience as a foster carer or from care.
Experience in recruitment, training coordination, or carer onboarding processes.
Previous administrative experience within a human services or faith-based agency.
