PERSOLKELLY on belhalf of their Client are currently looking for an Environmental Health Officer for a short term contract
- 38 hours, Full Time position
- 1-2 Months with the posibility of being extended

- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Sound knowledge of statutory provisions relating to Environmental and Public Health.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service through highly developed written, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute positively towards the success of the section and organisation.
- Well-developed problem solving, research and analytical skills.
- Experience as an Environmental Health Officer in Local Government is highly desirable.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND / OR TRAINING
- Qualification in Environmental Health (as deemed acceptable by the Chief Health Officer in accordance with section 18 of the Public Health Act 2016) to enable appointment as an Environmental Health Officer.
- Suitably qualified to be gazetted as an Authorised Person and Inspector for the purposes of controlling noise under the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 is highly desirable.
- Current 'C' class drivers licence.
- Membership of a professional Environmental Health body / association is desirable.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to health and environmental (noise and unauthorised discharges) complaints and
service requests, investigate and resolve
Promote and create awareness within the community on issues relating to environmental andpublic health
Provide technical advice on health issues to staff, ratepayers, community groups, governmentdepartments and private organisations
Participate in the development assessment process to ensure applicants are aware of healthrequirements
Assist where required, with disaster management on behalf of the CityDeputise for the Senior Environmental Health Officer during periods of absence as and whenrequired
