At Nestle, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Safety Officer to join our Distribution Centre in Altona, Victoria. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible to ensure the effective implementation and reporting of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management systems, drive a strong SHE culture and positive SHE performance.
- A day in the life of...
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Management, your key responsibilities include :
- Implement site SHE management system to ensure the timely reporting of incidents & hazards, completion of investigations and corrective action closure.
- Support site management through reporting of SHE performance including lead and lag indicators
- Identify, develop and implement site SHE improvement initiatives to improve site SHE performance
- Drive visible SHE leadership on the front line and influence management
- Collaborate with the wider safety community : site HSR, 1st aiders, other Nestle sites safety teams
- Ensure site SHE compliance to Nestlé Global Standards, 45001 & 14001 and legal requirements
- Ensure site implementation of measuring and monitoring requirements e.g., inspections.
- Conduct and coordinate SHE training according to annual training plan and requirements.
- Be the sites ambassador for safety

You will have :
- Working Distribution Centre environment experience - a plus!
- Formal qualifications in Safety (e.g., Cert IV, Diploma) is a must
- Experience in FMCG or related industrial experience in delivering projects
- Experience in engaging and providing training to a group
- Experience in risk management practices & routines
- A positive driven and self-motivated work ethic
- Good interpersonal skills - ability to work & communicate with others
- High organisational skills - Ensure that plans are translated into action
- Strong PC skills, MS Windows, MS Office
