Urban Planner Salary Range - $91,666.64 to $95,697.68 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

About the Role
The Graduate Urban Planner is primarily responsible for making recommendations on development applications and providing town planning advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Working under the supervision of Senior Planning Officers and the Coordinator of Planning Services, the successful candidate will project manage a variety of planning applications, make recommendations to senior staff and respond quickly and accurately to enquiries about current or prospective planning applications, including assessments as to whether planning approval is required.

Due to acting opportunities in the Planning Services team, we are looking for a proficient Graduate Urban Planner that is excited by the prospect of acting in an Urban Planner position for 12 months.
What are we looking for?
The role requires excellent communication skills, good analytical and reporting skills, the ability to work independently to problem solve and with a team when necessary, and a working knowledge of the town planning practice, principles and legislation.
Prior experience in customer service is essential as the role is largely responsible for dealing with a range of customers on the phone and in person. Some form of experience in a statutory planning role or an administrative role relating to town planning is also desirable.
