- THE ROLE
As Workplace Relations Partner, your role will be varied and could typically include :
- End to end case management of performance, conduct and grievance investigations
- Use insight gathered from employee relations reports to highlight trends and make recommendations to improve performance and address trends to the business.
- Supporting with Industrial Relations Matters
- Assist with facilitation of Line Manager Employee Relations capability building to improve knowledge on process and procedures for the business.
- Partnership with Legal Counsel to resolve difficult matters
- Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Case Management
- Provide timely advice, coaching and support to leaders, and staff members on ER matters;
- Conduct thorough and well documented internal investigations for conduct / grievance matters;
- Provide coaching and support for Performance Improvement Processes;
- Conduct Mediation when necessary;
- Liaise with internal Legal Counsel for any complex matters;
- Maintain Case Management Tracker and provide monthly reports to the Head of Workplace Relations on metrics, with a focus on identifying trends to inform future initiatives and development;
- Monitor and provide advice on change, risk and compliance control in the areas of employee relations.
Industrial Relations Support
- Provide timely advice, coaching and support to leaders on IR matters;
- Support the IR Partners for industrial matters
Partnering and Coaching
- Develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders to empower leaders in the areas of performance improvement, providing feedback and facilitating meaningful or courageous conversations;
- Development and facilitation of relevant training and workshops to build Leader and P&C capability as required
- Partner with Capability Team to develop ER related content for leadership programs
Policy, Tools & Templates
- Assist in the review and maintenance of P&C policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance with industrial obligations;
- ABOUT YOU
- 2+ years' experience in employee relations / industrial relations or related roles
- Tertiary qualification in human resources, law, workplace / industrial relations or similar experience / related tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated proactive action in managing employee grievance issues, including maintaining up to date knowledge of the industrial relations sector and implementing current best practice
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace relations legislation
- Ability to facilitate in-house mediations, investigations and effectively resolve employee disputes
- Employee relations experience commensurate with an ability to think logically, strategically and translate this into practical operational outcomes that include analysing and explaining the risk profile
- Exemplary attention to detail, demonstrated in written, verbal and presentation skills
