Pepper Lunch is the original Japanese D-I-Y Teppan restaurant, with over 500 stores all over the world. Pepper Lunch promises a dynamic and fresh culinary experience for everyone by presenting the novel concept of sizzling Steaks, Pasta Range, Sizzling Curry, and last but not least our signature Pepper Rice. Current at their George Street, Sydney store, there is a vacancy for an experienced and skilled Chef. This is a full-time position.
To be considered for this role you must have :
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.
- At least three years of relevant experience to substitute the formal qualification.
- You must be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident or have proper working rights.
Role :
The position of Chef is a 'hands on' position, responsible for working in and managing the kitchen operations. As a culinary professional, our Chef is responsible for all aspects of food preparation, including planning seasonal menus, overseeing the kitchen staff, ingredient sourcing, cooking techniques and presentation. They must also ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained and regularly meet with the management to discuss the business side of the restaurant and create a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Your main duties include :
Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient cooking operations and maintaining high food quality standards.Plan and develop new recipes and execute seasonal menus.Maintain record of stocks, ordering raw ingredients and supplies.Stock control for cool room, pantries, and storerooms.Food requirements estimation and replenish supplies while also Implementing effective measures for reduction in food costs and reduction of food waste while still maintaining the quality standard imposed by the management.Schedule and received food and beverages deliveries, adhering to food cost and budget.Inspection and checking quality of received goods including checking perishable goods such as meat, seafood, and vegetables.Hire, train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a cohesive and skilled team.Implemented new cooking techniques and enhancing overall kitchen efficiency.Maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure they work at optimum level.Maintaining Occupational Health and Safety practices in the kitchen including managing the storage of food in accordance with appropriate hygiene, health, and safety standards.Inspecting the dining rooms, kitchen, and storage facilities for cleanliness to ensure the restaurant meets health requirements.Maintain company and customer expectations by providing appealing Restaurant condition.Maintain business records as outlined in operational manual, analyse financial performance of the store attend meetings with the Management and create action plan to improve store performance.Other Skills :
