As Education and Community Liaison Officer (Resource Recovery), you will be part of the Resource Recovery team and responsible for the delivery of education and community engagement programs to foster recycling behaviour change. Your main focus will be on development of positive relationships between communities and the Resource Recovery team and delivery of education programs.
- Assist with the development, coordination and delivery of education programs, multi-channel communication / engagement campaigns and / or behaviour change intervention programs
- Community engagement to foster behaviour change behaviours
- Serve as Resource Recovery team ambassador and primary point of contact for specified stakeholders and residents, developing positive relationships to manage, monitor, and improve intervention and education programs
- Development and reporting of education programs
- Provide advice on waste and resource recovery education activities to other council officers to strengthen council's programs and services

- About you
To be successful in this role you will have :
- Relevant Degree in Education or Environmental Science or a similar field with subsequent formal education training or qualification; or equivalent level of expertise and experience
- Interpersonal and relationship development and management skills, preferably experienced with First Nations and CALD groups
- Customer service skills and experience in complaints / conflict resolution
- A passion for being a team player
- Experience managing and delivering community-based resource recovery education programs
- Ideally, experience and knowledge of the waste industry
- Working with Children Check - Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card
