Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) a company working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is currently looking for a Development Manager / Generation Asset Lead to join the PowertoX (PtX) platform in Perth Australia. Initially the role will be as a fulltime resource within the Murchison Green Hydrogen Project team with the aim of progressing the project to Final Investment Decision in 2027.
The Project
Murchison Green Hydrogen (MGH) Project is an islandmode commercialscale green hydrogen and ammonia project being developed in the MidWest region of Western Australia (WA). Powered by up to 6.2GW of onshore wind and solar generation Murchison is one of the most advanced developments in the global green hydrogen market.
The Murchison site has some of the best onshore wind and solar resources in the world ample land availability and proximity to large export markets with Australias key energy trading and security partners. Ultimately supplying up to 2 million tonnes of green ammonia per year for export to Japan and South Korea Murchison will also play an important role in the AsiaPacific (APAC) decarbonisation journey support Australias strategic trade partnerships and bolster Australias renewables credentials internationally.
The project has been granted Lead Agency status by the Western Australian Government and Major Project status by the Federal Government recognising it as a project of state and national significance that will bring economic development employment training and technology transfer opportunities to the MidWest region and the country as a whole.
The project is currently tendering for a competitive Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase with multiple tier 1 EPC contractors. This will be used to select contractors to move into FEED during 2026. A tendering process is also progressing for the supply and install contract for the Wind Turbines.
The role
As the Generation Assets Area Lead youll be a join the small Murchsion Green Hydrogen Development team in Perth but also part of the global group. The team is responsible progressing the development of the project through to FID. Your role is to act as a technical and contractual focal point for the generation assets associated with the project which nominally comprise :
- Up to 3.7GW wind turbines
- Up to 2.5GW solar PV
- 330kV power transmission system
- BESS
- Substations
- Associated civil infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
The position is a wideranging and challenging role across the entirety of the largescale renewables supply part of the project. It is not anticipated that the candidate will be an expert across all areas but will be expected to have experience across all of the project scope and have depth of experience in certain aspects of the project scope. You will be supported by an owners engineering team who will provide technical support as required.Initially the role will be a standalone role but as the project develops into FEED there will be a requirement to lead a team delivering the full generation assets scope.Technical Excellence & Quality Control
Leads the technical execution of the generation assts scope establishes the project execution approach and oversees all engineering planning monitoring and quality for both internal and external resources to accomplish project goals.Ensure overall design intent is maintained for the generation assets.Engineering QA / Integrity accountability in delivery of technical scope.Coordinate the approval of technical and scope variations within Owners Engineering team ECI / FEED contractors and CompanyDefine detail design deliverables and engineering procedures. Secure approval and apply codes & standards.Identify map and manage all technical and technology interfaces and ensure proper integration of all systems.Ensure that the project follows execution best practices and that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with MHRP policies and contractual agreements.Identifies qualifies quantifies and manages project risks and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued in delivery of technical scope.Captures Analyse and share lessons learned throughout the project with the project team globally.Contractor Management
Coordinates with Supply Chain Management and successfully procures all required services materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.Prepare Technical ITBs and scopes of work and support development of bidder lists. Conduct technical evaluations and recommendations. Review & verify vendor documents.Monitor engineering progress against the project schedule identifying problem areas at an early stage. Plan corrective actions where required expedite Contractors work and give feed back to the PMO and Project Director.Project status monitoring and reporting budgeting and resource management to ensure contractors complete work within budget and schedule.Review and approve contractor deliverables within your area of responsibilityLeadership & Management
Initially there will not be any direct reports. However as the project progresses into FEED there will be a requirement to Lead a larger generation assets team and provide daytoday management coaching mentoring feedback and opportunities.Contribute to a highperforming team environment based on trust and accountabilityWorkplace Health and Safety & Environment
