The Policy Officer's key responsibilities areProvide administrative and secretariat support to the Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council and other boards as required. This will include arranging travel, end to end planning and co-ordination of meetings, managing budgets including renumeration of members, liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, reporting on budget and performance, and managing / responding to Council member needs, and assisting in the development of briefing materials and meeting papers. Undertake policy research and analysis, provide advice on policy issues, and prepare timely and well researched briefings, submissions and correspondence on policy and policy-related issues. Develop positive relationships and engage with other state government departments, other levels of government and the non-government sector and key community stakeholders, to identify and respond to emerging issues and to communicate government positions on matters pertaining to multiculturalism. Contribute to the delivery policy forums, inter-agency meetings and consultative processes. Contribute positively to Multicultural Affairs Queensland team environment by supporting strategic planning, development, communication and engagement functions, sharing knowledge and information and working both autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues. Assist in the development, implementation and reporting of strategic projects and initiatives that progress the Government's policy commitment to cultural diversity.Delegations
