Position Summary

The purpose of the OPG Operations Manager is to lead the Operations team to make the right decisions that will positively impact both the personnel and the business unit. As a the leader in operations, it is vital the Operations Manager builds a culture that promotes safety, growth and development within their team, as well as progressing the systems and processes for operations in the region.

The Operations Manager will have good operational and technical base knowledge and they will continue to further enhance their inter and intra personnal skills in order to play their role in leading the region operationally. Together with this, they will develop positive relationships with all stakeholders and overcome rewarding challenges, both independently and as a part of the wider team.

Duties And Responsibilities

SAFETY

• Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to as far as is reasonably practicableto ensure a safe working environment.
• Promote and lead a strong HSE culture at all times
• Introduce initiatives that are safety driven with the hope of reducing Incidents and hazards in all operations.
• Participation in the company HSE Observation card, STOP and LSR Self Verification Programs.
• Use their SWA (Stop Work Authority) to stop a job they may feel is unsafe, in order to prevent an accident / incident occurring.
• Work and abide by our 6 lifesaving rules : energy isolation, working at heights, suspended loads, radiation, confined space and pressure testing, and practice the fatality prevention behaviours that are associated with each life saving rule.
