Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Investigator on a contract for 3 months with potential extension.

- Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate possible breaches of energy laws and rules by analysing and assessing information gathered and make sound determinations about the probity of the information, the information required, and drafting request for information
- Identify logical next steps and the most suitable resolution for investigations and persuasively communicate the reasons for decisions and recommendations
- Under guidance, draft less complex written material including correspondence, minutes, briefings, instructions to external solicitors, infringement notices, media releases, Committee and Board papers
- Keep accurate, thorough and functional records, including capturing documents in information management systems and updating investigation management systems and reports
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Work flexibly as part of a team and independently, across multiple projects in a geographically dispersed work environment
- Following job-specific criteria are highly desirable
- knowledge and demonstrated experience in investigations or enforcement work, preferably within a government regulatory environment
- knowledge or understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of Australian electricity and gas markets and the role, purpose and objectives of the Agency
- tertiary qualifications in law, economics / commerce, public policy or related fields.
