Lead Cyber Security Engineer (Palo Alto)

About the role

This position will have a wide remit, covering leading client engagements, stakeholder management, pre-sales, and delivery of solutions. The role will both deliver direct consulting services to clients in the area of security design and implementation, as well as act as a bridge between the security engineering team and broader Mantel Group capabilities to help ensure that the technical solutions we recommend and deliver to clients will achieve the strategic objectives intended.

Whilst this role will have a focus around Palo Alto products and services, we are not expecting this to be the entirety of the role, with application across broader networking, infrastructure and general cloud security expected.

Your day-to-day

Providing industry experience and recommendation across a wide range of technologies and solutions

Understanding client business requirements, current strategies, technologies, limitations and translating them into robust, justifiable security solution definitions.

• Leading large scale security projects for enterprise customers, particularly those where Palo Alto services are significantly employed. Specific experience in designing and deploying one or more of the following products desirable

Prisma access (SASE)

Cortex (CNAPP)

Software firewalls

Developing designs encompassing security infrastructure, platforms and services. This may include network security group policies, IAM controls, data loss protection policies and more.

Reviewing, designing and implementing secure solutions across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google)

Operate as Mantel Group’s primary technical partner with Palo Alto, keeping informed of product developments and releases and maintaining relationships with key Palo product SE’s

Supporting sales and pre-sales activities with clients

What you’ll need to be successful

Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience across the Palo Alto cloud product portfolio (primarily within a cloud context) as well as those of comparable vendors.

Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions and control implementations; primarily in cloud and / or hybrid environments

Strong knowledge of zero trust principles and architectures, as well as their practical limitations and inhibitors to successful implementations

Cloud devops engineering skills with prior experience in deploying IAC such as terraform or using python or ansible for configuration management

Willingness to continually upskill; including learning new technologies and obtaining new certifications

Experience in mentoring and leading junior consultants

Experience in leading teams and projects

Experience working in regulated environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise with and influence diverse stakeholder groups
