We have an exceptional opportunityfor an Addiction Medicine Consultant / AddictionPsychiatrist to work in AOD Consultation Liaison andAddiction Prevention and Treatment Service (AOD Outpatient Clinics)across two of our sites, Fiona Stanley Hospital and CockburnHealth.

You will be part of thefirst integrated addiction and mental health service in a publichospital in Western Australia. The successful candidate will alsobe able to work in the Gaming Disorder Clinic, the first outpatientclinic for patients with gaming disorder in an acute publichospital in Australia.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiaryhospital offering a range of health services including the StateRehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre,purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric andneonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH alsodelivers specialised services such as heart and lungtransplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Cockburn Health isa new 75 bed, women's mental health facility focussed onproviding non-authorised inpatient services for Women'sMental Health, Eating Disorders and AOD behavioural and withdrawalmanagement.

SMHS delivers quality, safe andeffective hospital and health services within a catchment areastretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southernhalf of Perth.

In this role you will lead themultidisciplinary team to provide AOD specialist medical servicesto patients and promote patient safety and quality of care andprovides leadership, orientation, training, supervision andeducation where relevant for doctors in training, Health ServiceMedical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaborationwith the Service Co-Director / Head of Service and other consultantsworks to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards andtargets. You will also be required to work within the scope ofclinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS AreaMedical Credentialing committee.
