Team Leader - Drug & Alcohol Community Teams

What you'll be doing

An opportunity has become available for an experienced clinician to join NBMLHD Drug and Alcohol Service as a Team Leader on a Permanent Full Time capacity. This is an essential front line clinical leadership position providing leadership and governance to a team facilitating drug and alcohol psychosocial interventions to patients with substance use issues.

The Team Leader Drug & Alcohol Community Teams provides a key role in the front line operational management and continued development of community based drug and alcohol services across the NBMLHD. This role will include the establishment (developing and implementing) of new and innovative programs and models of care for adult drug & alcohol clinical services operating within a community setting.

The core functions of this position include :

• Day to day operational management of staff.
• Ensure clinicians participate in clinical supervision / review sessions.
• Support the development of referral pathways between the Drug & Alcohol Service and a range of service providers across the NBMLHD region.
• Lead the development and implementation of new clinical programs and community based Drug & Alcohol services.
• Managing a patient case load.

Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
