The RoleWhere you fit inPrelude is Shell's first Floating LNG facility, with a continual funnel of Brownfield projects which are handed to the Maintenance Turnaround Construction (MTAC) execution organization to execute. Adhoc construction activities may be requested, and this position will provide support and cover to the wider MTAC organization.
Reporting to the Turnaround & Construction Manager, the Offshore Construction Lead is responsible for delivery of a portfolio of offshore brownfield projects through an EPC / EPCM contractor, in adherence to the schedule whilst ensuring an incident free, smooth execution and handover to operations.
This position will be based offshore on Shell prelude and will follow the Prelude 3 / 4 / 3 / 5 Roster, however there will be a requirement to spend time in the Perth Shell House office as part of the rotation.
- What's the role?
The Offshore Construction Lead drives the safe, timely execution of a portfolio of project scopes required to support the Prelude facility, such as :
- conventional brownfield work
- discovery work during the early phase of operation
- Prelude project carry over scopes
- scopes arising from debottlenecking studies and investigation.
- Other large construction or maintenance activities in support of the wider MTAC organization.
You will be responsible for ensuring offshore preparations are completed by others as per schedule requirements to enable the EPC / EPCM contractor to complete specific work scopes as per the schedule. This entails confirming that there are no blockers to execution.
You will focus on ICC / PTW readiness and timeliness, Services support (scaffolding / rope access), local scheduling and prioritization, materials availability, and preparation at the worksite. Medium-term forward-looking review of work packs / job cards to highlight any offshore concerns early to enable onshore teams to resolve.
As the construction activities are executed in an operating offshore asset, there are interfaces to manage between the contractor, vendors and the offshore operations organization, progress reporting requirements that must be met.
You will use your expertise to :
- Work closely with the Onshore Construction Lead to ensure a single Prelude Schedule is delivered, ensuring multi-discipline integration and alignment across areas of contractor and Prelude organization.
- Work closely with the Integrated Engineering Team with close relationship with the Integrated Engineering Team (IET) Brownfield Manager to deliver all Prelude brownfield projects safely and on time with a focus on Simultaneous Operations (SIMOP) activities.
- Work closely with the Brown Field Projects organization and the Integrated Engineering Team and Planning function to integrate projects and major maintenance into turnarounds.
- Visible leadership in planning and executing Prelude Turnarounds and relevant unplanned Pit Stops and events.
- Ensures Event Turnarounds (planned and unplanned) to ensure all construction work is fully integrated in the turnaround scope.
- Collaborate with Contracts & Procurement to ensure contract award process is followed as per Shell Australia.
