The RoleFollowing and continuing into an impressive growth period at our Head office based near Perth airport, we are currently seeking a Purchasing Officer to assist in the efficient procurement of goods and services for the business. They are responsible for managing the purchasing process, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The Purchasing Officer works closely with various departments to understand their requirements, source appropriate suppliers, and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
Duties will includeBuild and maintain a robust supplier network and assess their capabilities, certifications, and adherence to sustainability practices.Negotiate favourable prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize costs and ensure the availability of high-quality components.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and forecast demand for components.Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules.Coordinate with suppliers to monitor order status, track shipments, and resolve any issues or delays promptly.Maintain comprehensive records ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.Work closely with Internal to optimise inventory levels components.Coordinate with logistics teams to streamline the movement of components and minimize lead times.Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and responsiveness to ensure consistent and reliable supply.Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for joint innovation, cost savings, and sustainability improvements.Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and evolving regulations related to renewable energy components.Ensuring set KPIs are met through effective leadership, engagement and management of team members.Coordinating the implementation of OHS policies, ensuring workplace compliance, and reporting hazards and near misses.Foster a workforce culture of excellence, innovation, honesty and teamwork.About youBachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the renewable energy industry.Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, hybrid systems, and associated components.Familiarity with sustainability practices and certifications in the renewable energy sector.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Detailed working knowledge of purchasing, inventory and supplier management using ERP software.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the renewable energy industry.Excellent communication and time management skills, conflict resolution abilities and confidence dealing with a wide range of people, from tradespeople to customers / stakeholders and supervisors.Understanding of ISO and OHSE requirements.Additional benefits includeSalary continuance insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP), accessible to all employees and their familiesRetention bonus schemeAdditional paid days off exceeding annual leaveEmployee Referral ProgramWe are an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt Pacific Energy, we celebrate the richness and depth that diversity brings.
